The HARTA board members are hard at work with the permission and help of the Historic Forks of the Wabash board to continue the current Lime City trail to Rangeline bridge with the intention of continuing the trail to Andrews and beyond.

The current gravel trail runs directly along the Wabash River and stops just short of Rangeline Road. HARTA is working on extending the paved trail by relocating it to the Wabash and Erie canal bed. The work that’s being put into the project can account for 20 percent of the local funding match required by the Indiana Regional Cities grant ,which HARTA is hoping to get fund the $50,000 project. When the project is complete HARTA hopes to extend the trails to Andrews, a project that would cost $3 million.
